The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex™ 7000 drive is a medium voltage drive used in various industries like petrochemical, cement, mining, and more. It meets standards set by NEC, IEC, NEMA, UL, and CSA. It operates within a voltage range of 2400V to 6600V, emphasizing reliability, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness.
Using pulse width modulation (PWM) and current source inverter (CSI) topology, it's designed for versatility across voltage and power ranges. With semiconductor switches rated at 6500V PIV, the drive requires minimal inverter components: six at 2400V, 12 at 3300…4160V, and 18 at 6600V.
The drive incorporates regenerative braking and features Symmetrical Gate Commutated Thyristors (SGCTs) for machine converter switches, active front-end (AFE) rectifier configurations, and Silicon-Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs) for 18-pulse rectifier setups.
Additionally, it offers enhanced torque control capabilities and increased dynamic control performance, including 100% torque at zero speed and smooth direction transition through zero speed.
